Our anti “Black Friday”

I follow a few blogs regularly, and one of my favorites is Zen Habits.  Reading this blog every week gives me renewed energy and a fresh perspective.  It reflects how I feel about life and what I want from it, and this post was no exception.  It was as if his words were coming out of my own mouth.

I may never go shopping on Black Friday.  But I hope to always keep our Black Friday tradition of cutting our own tree and celebrating the start of the Christmas season.  I hope these memories will stay with my girls their whole lives, and they will look back at them and smile.

Most of all, I hope they will learn that life is not about shopping.
