About

Hello, and thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your visit.

My name is Lisa and I live with my husband, our two daughters, and our pets in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

2019 marks the 10-year-anniversary of In the Mousehole. This blog started spontaneously in the middle of a sleepless night with a fresh, new baby.  The name of the blog evoked a feeling of small and simple living–a cozy, meaningful life, protected from the outside world.  True to my Danish roots, In the Mousehole draws from the nordic concept of hygge, a nod to the small, simple, cozy and meaningful space I yearned to create for our children, our family, and this blog.

I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota.  I am passionate about attachment, holistic wellness, childhood, parenting, and meaningful family life. I am a spiritual seeker. I have a curious mind and an open heart. Sharing discoveries and joining others on their own healing and transformative journeys sparks joy and gratitude in my heart.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Enjoy and be well,

Lisa

  1. Thanks for the comments on my site. I just started poking around yours, but need to do so more tomorrow (as I am tired and need to go to bed now). But I just wanted to say really quick that I really love your pictures. You are very talented with the camera. It seems like we have a lot in common… suburban Minnesota, attachment parenting, unschooling. Very cool. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of you before. Oh, and my husband used to be a school teacher as well.

  2. Thank you Allison! Yes, we do have a lot of things in common, except you are a lot funnier than I am! I’ve known about you for a while because of your photography and doula business and have seen your name lots of times. How crazy that your hubby was a teacher, too!

  3. Cheers Lisa!, to quitting the life of internet for a more simpler life. I too am thinking that is the best thing for me…I have realized what an addiction I have for it and how much I need not to sit here on the computer and, for me, to be more productive. Enjoy your mini farm! -Michelle

  4. Hi there. I found you when you subscribed to my blog. Three years ago my husband and I decided to leave the city and move to a small acreage, for the very same reasons you listed. We made that dream a reality last year, and it has been everything we hoped it would be and more. You can read about it on my other blog, ruralaspirations.wordpress.com. Meanwhile I look forward to reading more of your blog!
